LUVINDIEMUSIC & FOOD: think outside of the box

How can you increase traffic to your website?  Why don't you include a blog or vlog about any other topic of interest, e.g. food/cooking, entertainment gossip, sports? Music doesn't have to be an exclusive interest.

You are creative, aren't you?  There are plenty of ways to increase traffic to your YouTube and main internet websites.  No risks, no rewards.  Don't be conventional when conventional only gives you mediocre results.

I love food and who doesn't?  Recipes are one of the most searched topics on the internet.  Try posting up a video of a recipe you made for breakfast, lunch or dinner and use indie music as the soundtrack?  You don't have to talk on the video.  Just relay the recipe in writing only.  Another option is use your music at the opening & closing of the video.

Contact some home chefs, etc. on YouTube and ask them if they can include your indie music in their videos.  Your goal is to attract new fans/followers and do what you need to reach it.  Be eclectic, not one-dimensional.  Sell your CD's at the farmer's market or arts & crafts events.

FYI, recipes are not copyrighted so you can rewrite the recipe, but include corresponding credits.  I have one of the largest vintage cookbook collections so feel free to ask me to look up recipes for you.

The perfect example of this marketing strategy is Sarah Sellers' food & music blog Sarah's Music Kitchen .

THINK OUTSIDE OF THE BOX! Be sure to use key search words about these outside interests to get more hits on your music page.
